(Daniel 6)
INTRODUCTION
Sometimes we find ourselves in difficult, complicated and unsavoury situations of life. At such a time situations and circumstances seem contrary and out of control. These are times when even the righteous may not have an explanation for the prevailing situation, while the ungodly will question where our God is and whether he can help or deliver us.
We are living at such a time when the whole world seems helpless because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The so-called world powers have become powerless as they watched helplessly the great devastation and destruction of lives and economy because of the pandemic. Many are asking why all these are happening despite the prayer of the saints and great prophets and servant of God among us.
Though science has failed us, world power has been unable, and all human effort seems helpless, one thing is sure our God is able to deliver us. This is the message God asks me to deliver to you, no matter your situation, no matter your experience, no matter what you are passing through, no matter what people are saying and no matter what you think… … God is able to deliver us, and he will surely turn things around.
Let us look at how God turned a seemingly hopeless and helpless situation around in the book of Daniel, chapter six.
- HE IS ABLE TO SAVE FROM HUMAN PLOT
Daniel 6:1-9
- It pleases the king to set over the kingdom 120 princes and to set over these three presidents- vs 1,2
“Daniel was preferred above the presidents and princes because and an excellent spirit was in him, and the king thought to set him over the whole realms.”
Prophetic Declaration:
- This season it will please the Lord to set you over kingdoms.
- This season, you will be preferred above presidents and princes.
- An excellent spirit will be in you to set you over kingdoms and above your fellows.
- With the manifestation of glory came a great and devilish plot, not only to demote Daniel but to completely eliminate him. Beloved, whenever the glory of a man manifests, destiny destroyers often emerge to quench the glory.
Prophetic declaration:
- No matter the plot of men against you, it will turn to nothing.
- No matter how skilful they are and how subtle the plot against you may be, it will never succeed.
- The plot against Daniel was subtle and well-executed. A great trap was set for him in his walk with God. This was an area the enemy believe he can never escape (vs. 4-5)
Prophetic Declaration:
- Every trap the enemy set for you will fail. Whosoever digs a pit for you will fall into it.
- Every assembly and gathering to plan your downfall will fail.
- He IS ABLE TO SAVE WHEN WE WALK IN RIGHTEOUSNESS
Daniel 6:4-5
- The enemies “sought to find occasion against Daniel concerning the kingdom; but they could find none occasion nor fault; forasmuch as he was faithful, neither was there any error or fault found in him.” (vs 4).
Note: Number 23: 21, 23
“He has not observed iniquity in Jacob, Nor has He seen wickedness in Israel. The Lord his God is with him, And the shout of a King is among them. 23 “For there is no sorcery against Jacob, Nor any divination against Israel. It now must be said of Jacob And of Israel, ‘Oh, what God has done!’
- Today, the greatest pandemic in Nigeria is not COVID-19 but Corruption. This is followed by his twin’s brothers, “negligence and injustice.”
Proverbs 14:34 – “Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.”
- HE IS ABLE TO SAVE THROUGH PRAYER DESPITE THE DANGERS
Daniel 6:7-10
- The king edits shut down the temples and prohibited the hour of prayers but Daniel will not submit to such an ungodly edit from the great king despite the danger.
- Many abandoned God throughout the lockdown.
We must be like Daniel, who went to his house and “kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God” (vs. 10b).
Beloved, don’t allow the total lockdown, partial lockdown, or restricted and regulated opening of worship centre deter you from effective and dynamic prayer in the presence of God. This is the time to pray and frustrate every plan of the enemy.
- No law or decree of men must shut you out of prayer and God’s presence. This was why I said NO during the lockdown when they said there was a “ban on religious activities.” You can shut down church auditorium for security and health reason just as in this pandemic time, but you cannot ban on religious activities.
Anything and any situation that stops you from praying will hand you over to your enemy. This was why we never stopped praying and worshipping our living God who can never be locked down throughout the lockdown.
- HE IS ABLE TO DELIVER FROM THE LIONS’ DEN
18 Now the king went to his palace and spent the night fasting, and no musicians were brought before him. Also, his sleep [g]went from him. 19 Then the king arose very early in the morning and went in haste to the den of lions. 20 And when he came to the den, he cried out with a [h]lamenting voice to Daniel. The king spoke, saying to Daniel, “Daniel, servant of the living God, has your God, whom you serve continually, been able to deliver you from the lions?” 21 Then Daniel said to the king, “O king, live forever! 22 My God sent His angel and shut the lions’ mouths so that they have not hurt me, because I was found innocent before Him; and also, O king, I have done no wrong before you.” 23 Now the king was exceedingly glad for him and commanded that they should take Daniel up out of the den. So Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no injury whatever was found on him, because he believed in his God.
- Daniel was thrown to the lions’ den. The enemy taught they have succeeded, but that was never to be. The lockdown in lions’ den became a stepping stone to greater glory.
- The king could not sleep and arose early in the morning to go to the lion’s den.
- The king with great lamentation asked a damning question; “Daniel, a servant of the living God, has your God, whom you serve continually, been able to deliver you from the lions?” (vs. 20).
- I don’t know where you have been lockdown but this I know and declare:
After this lockdown, you are soaring high to greater glory.
See what happened to Daniel:
- The enemy monitored him, caught him and reported him to the king.
- God will frustrate every monitoring agent monitoring you for destruction.
- He was arrested, tried and sentenced to death in the lions’ den.
- Though the king tried to save him, he could not.
- Where human help fails, God will arise for your deliverance.
- Where men are limited by law your God will break every law to launch you to greater glory
- He was thrown into the lions’ den, but the Lord sent his angel, and shut the mouths of the lions… … … vs 22
- They sealed the lions’ den with a big stone and the king’s signet and that of his lords, “that the purpose might not be changed concerning Daniel” (vs. 17)
- The king could not sleep because of Daniel.
Prophetic Declaration:
- The Lord will shut the mouth of every lion planted to devour you –
- He will grant you peace even when surrounded by dangers.
- He will surprise your friends and your enemy.
- He will give men in exchange for your life.
- Those who think you will not see tomorrow will be the one that will not see tomorrow.
- The trap that men put down for you will destroy them.
- THE LORD WILL BRING TESTIMONY AND MANIFESTATION OF HIS GLORY FROM YOUR LOCKDOWN (CRISIS)
Daniel 6:23-28
(We you now rise on your feet as we make the final declarations and walk from lockdown to greater glory)
- Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no injury whatever was found on him, because he believed in his God – vs. 23
- Daniel was promoted after his travail; you will be promoted after your travail – vs. 28
- God’s name was exalted after the travail. God’s name will be glorified, and those who are asking where is your God will be permanently silenced – vs, 27
- The king enacted a new decree. After this crisis, there shall be a new beginning and a new nation where the name of our God will be exalted – vs. 26
- The king praised the God of Daniel. Even the unbelievers will see the wonders in your life and praise the Lord.
God is truly able. and by our righteousness and sound faith in God we shall all overcome any bad situation
