Ikeja Electric announces 8 days power black out

-Some areas in Lagos to experience total power black out for 8 days.

-The affected areas are listed as: Mende, Anthony, Maryland, Ikeja GRA, Shonibare Estate, Part of Ojota, Ketu, Ikosi, Demurin and environs.

Scheduled maintenance to plunge some locations within Lagos state to 8 days total black out.

The Ikeja Electric (IE) Plc on Wednesday, warned that there would be interruption of power supply to some parts of Lagos state from November 3 to November 10.

Head, Corporate Communications of Ikeja Electric, Mr Felix Ofulue disclosed that the need to carry out some strategic maintenance procedures in order to improve power supply,  necessitated the power outage which will be experienced by certain consumers.

According to Ofulue, the rehabilitation of Maryland Injection Substation, would involve the replacement of obsolete switch gear panels at the switch room.

“The rehabilitation will affect power supply to Mende, Anthony, Maryland, Ikeja GRA, Shonibare Estate, Part of Ojota, Ketu, Ikosi, Demurin and environs.

“Power supply will be restored immediately after the completion of the exercise.

“I solicit the understanding and cooperation of all our consumers that would be affected by this outage,’’ he said.

Ofulue further assured that necessary arrangements had been made to ensure the maintenance is completed within scheduled time frame.
