Following widespread condemnation to the planned reintroduction of charges on the usage of Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) , the apex bank has said that part of the reason it re-introduced charges on Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) is that it is expensive to maintain the machine and requires ‘economic incentive’ for owners to deploy and service.
