Season 4 of Project Fame kicks off

The musical reality show kicked off with a Gala Night which featured Nigerian and international artistes

The fourth season of the MTN Project Fame West Africa, kicked off yesterday with a Gala Night held at the Eko Hotels and Suites in Lagos.

The musical talent show started with the highlights from the auditions and musical performances from past winners: Inyanya, Praise, Mike, Chidimma and Kesse.

Project Fame West Africa, a musical reality show sponsored by telecom company, MTN, will last for 10 weeks.

Last night saw 16 out of the 18 contestants chosen into the academy. The academy which has Joke Silva as the Principal, allows viewers a unique opportunity to follow day by day, behind-the-scene progress of the contestants in their quest for fame..

The winner of the musical reality show will win the sum of N2.5 million, a Toyota RAV4 and a recording contract deal.

The General Manager of Consumer Marketing in MTN Nigeria, Kola Oyeyemi, disclosed that MTN Project Fame season 4 is going to be a landmark event as the company is out to ensure that Nigerians experience one of the most memorable moments in the history of musical performances and reality shows in Nigeria.

"MTN is using this year's show to further reinforce its leadership position in the youth market,” Oyeyemi said. “The show is bringing world class artistes to open a new season of a world class show which will discover talented singers who will eventually excel on the world stage.”

The high points of the Gala Night were the performances by international music sensation, Brandy and Nigeria’s D-banj.
