Boko Haram give terms for negotiation

Says recipe for peace is the unconditional release of arrested members

The radical Islamist sect, popularly known as Boko Haram, has said that they will not dialogue with the Federal Government (FG) until all their members who have been arrested are released.

Spokesperson of the group, Abul Qaqa, who disclosed the groups demands on Thursday called on President Goodluck Jonathan; Senate President, David Mark; Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal; and the Attorney General  and Minister of Justice, Mohammed Bello Adoke, to respond to their request or they would not relent in their attacks.

According to Qaqa: "The recipe for peace is the unconditional release of our members".

He, also revealed the identities of two suicide bombers who attacked the Joint Task Force headquarters (JTF) in Maiduguri and the Anti Terrorism two- storey building in Damaturu, as Usman alias Baana and Abi Yusuf, 26.

The group's spokesperson said that Baana, a successful businessman who left behind a wife and a son, was seen as a martyr because he was barely four days in the group before he pleaded to be allowed to carry out the act on the anti terrorism building.

He also revealed that Yusuf was responsible for the bombing of the JTF headquarters in Maiduguri.

“He was also a martyr whom we are going to miss a lot because of his outstanding mastery of how to improvise explosives,” Qaqa said.

Other demands of the group include, "Islam reigns supreme, and Sharia replaces the Constitution; all women are degraded; all ties with the Western World are severed".

I think govt shld divorce any ethnic or religious sentiment and listen to the boko haram sects just lyk they've been listening to other rebelling groups in Nig. I.e the OPC, nigerdelta militants nd wat hav u. Negotiating wit d sect is d onli panacea to lasting peace nd security challenges dis country is faced with.

So Bawa, you want govt to listen and meet those unrealistic demands by your boko haram? Looking at the demands, it's apparent that the sect consists of people who are from alien planet. Their master is the devil who's out to destroy the beautiful works of creation of our God Almighty.

i dont think there is any negotiation here because they have declared what they want for them selves death or the country divides and as i strongly know, nigeria has one constitution that govern us right which the fore fathers carefully set to guide us including the fathers of the said book harams in the north and since then there has been peace until some greedy ones whom have rejected knowledge and wisdom brought about involving into sect which i dont know who is loosing, one i could remember during the colonial era lord lugard visited the north for establishment of western education but it was rejected and those that agreed to it today we can see how it is, so who should we held responsible for the back wardness of a part of the country which has rejected all good endeavours , patient ,developmental contribution and to see all as one nigeria while embracing crisis that befall them only may be i should say it a curse, its high time the northan moslem whom are not in surport of these desiease b?h to protest so the whole world knows were to face now cause notthing is said from them and it seems they enjoy seeing psycopants killing their brothers and sisters whom are destined to benefit the family and the religion too but lost to bombing and massacer.if the north want division please mr president let them be as we the youths from the other wing of the country are ready to up hold our stand and right and also to defend our intergrity while the end will justify the means cause it s annoying that we are striving to amke these country great while some are distroying which can no longer be condoled i think its time for norther nigeria to get there independent so that the other wings can gain concentration of full development as revenue is wasted to were its not been needed while we stand in patient not that we are scared or fools but love which is not been returned .@ mr bawa if that is the only thing u can say about these then you are partial and also sound suspicious, if only you cleaarly read what they are demanding which is and can never be posible in these life time except we divide.

ALL WOMEN DEGRADED? THESE PEOPLE ARE MADDER THAN MAD. DO THEY KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS? THEY MUST BE DEEPLY STUPID.

Is Jonathan That's Stupid, For Allowing This Set of Pigs This Far. YeYe, Nothing Man.

This people must be real insane, "in what level do they have to dialogue with FG talkless of giving them conditions". RUBBISH!

Bawa qassim is a member period.

for how long will a feverish bird continue to tremble before its keeper .we have ccondoled these insanity for long and can no longer tolorate it if the north can not protest against the problem disturbing them it is high time we divide as it seems they are enjoying these scenerios going on in area and sitting down saying nothing onlyb for some one saying that we should listen to aimles speqach and sit to dialog on what can can never come to reality. The only thing i grow up to know is the constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria as one nation one people which was carefully set in place by our fore fathers and the fore fathers of these book harams and has been what we protect to save us peace and some one is calling for it to be sharia which can never be true.and slow pase in the north should not be any one s head ach as the other have been waitting in patient while our resources is been deployed to were they dont need it only to burn houses and kill our brothers and there own brother for selfish intrest.if the northern elights will sit vback and fold there hands to all these menace happening in here area it will be presumed that they enjoy real action film taking place in thier state,so mr president if they are tired of staying with us let thier people go and dont be pharoe but be moses as we stand by you to lead us to the promise land of development and we been slowphased by people whom have rejected knowledge and wisdom and have forgotten about the judgement of God while embibing on self judgement and strongly belive the image of nigeria will be appreciated after taking a clear thiough on these we have suffered so long in there hands and now the power is not in thier hands only to result in militancy and bombing but when power returns no more bombing. God protect and help true Nigerians were ever we are.as i think it is high time we give northern nigeria independent . case study somalia, sudan

Only a hopeless govt will agree to the untenable demands of these mentally deranged group of terrorists. If they can not conform with the Nigerian constitution, they can beg to be excused from being a part of the Nigerian nation-state. They should be well adviced that the non-moslem population of Nigeria should THANKED for associating with them in the first place. What do they bring to the table of federation? Nothing of course. They should keep their stupidity to themselves.Their jihad is not what brought Nigeria together, other ethnic nationalities have absolve enough of their foolishness for 51 years, therefore, they should be made aware of the cost of their present adventurism.

BOKO HARAM GIVES CONDITION FOR NEGOTIATION

I am the only Nigerian that failed to reason talk less understand Boko Haram's agitations and what it stands to mean and what they aimed at achieving. Agreed, their sect's leader, Yusuf, was killed either in error or willingly. But I understand the issue is being addressed by the Government. The issue of unconditional release of the detained members of the sect as part of the negation for peace make no sense to me.
The point here is that for these set of Nigerian killing innocent Nigerians is what gives me a serious concern. How on earth would you want to settle issue with violence? I had expected some Northern Leaders to have intervened or waded in long time ago, to find amicable settlement to the burning issue before it got to this level but to my utmost dismay, It seems they are being unconcerned to this development. Very seriously, most of their victims are majorly their fellow northerners and few from other parts of the country.
And knowing full well that Nigeria is a secular country, so imposing their ways of lives (Islam) and sharia on all the citizens is not only impossible but rather well conceived. Even though, Arabia, where the religion originated, still respects and accommodates other people's religion. Why is it in Nigeria that we are seen to overdo things? Are we telling the Arabs that we accept the religion more than they do? Most of the atrocities that we introduced to the religion are never happening there.
Killing, maiming and destroying of innocent souls and property, do not make you nearer to God but rather would make you account on the day of judgement for all the atrocities that you engage or partake in your life time. The impression that when you do all these and die make you go to Jannat or paradise is a mere consolation. Not feasible, this is the fact.
The question is; what would be the faith of non-Muslims when you implement the doctrine of sharia in Nigeria? Or when it is implemented how would they (non- Muslims) be adjudicated? Is their plan to send them out of the country of their birth if they refuse to accept sharia? Is this not confusions already.
I am a practicing Muslim and I accept Islam as my way of life but I have members of my extended family and many friends as Christians. How then can I afford to miss them all? This is why to me their intention remains vague.
It is only a stupid Government that would want to negotiate with this kind of fellows. Their reasons, deeds and actions have lost touch with reality. It is much of political rather than religious as it is portrait and should be restrained at all cost. No amount of resources will be too much for the Government to fight them. These sects are dragging the country's development backward. Most of the property that were destroyed would need to be replaced at their state expense. But what about the innocent souls that were no more because of their greed? These are irreparable losses that the country suffers. The Federal Government must maintain it position not to compensate any person or group of person for any damage done whatsoever.

More surprisingly, the ways their state Governments including the ACF, are passive in reacting to this menace make one thinks they are carrying out this brazen act with some people's supports and consents. With millions of security vote in their possessions, when these are pooled together would be substantial to get rid of this devils.
Aside from the numerous problems facing Nigeria at the moment, the Federal Government is still being expected to spend colossal amount to protect the live and property of the citizens from this axis as demanded by Nigeria's constitution. And the same constitution they want to be replaced with sharia . But simple put, it is rather an unnecessary self-inflicted problem.
Since the northerners themselves are seemed to be complacent with the development,(I trust my southern people),so they do not expect others to protest on their behalves. They should lead by organising mass protest to indicate or explain their abhorrence to the activities of these Boko Haram fellows.
I suspected that it is more to it that meet the eyes. May be their ultimate agenda is to remove Northern part of Nigeria from the map of Nigeria. Who knows? I will say to all intent and purposes that they are free to do so for peace to reign. If that would solved the problems of indiscriminate killings and destroying of property worth billions since the inception of this upheaval, then it is all welcome for real.
