Abuja light rail will be completed in 2012 -FCTA
The rail project, once completed, will ease transportation in the territory
The senior special assistant to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) minister on Project, Ahmed Wadada, has disclosed that the Abuja light rail project will be completed before the end of the year.
Wadada who made this promise during the unveiling of the FCTA public mass transit scheme in Abuja said that when the light rail project is commissioned, it will ease movement in and around the territory.
According to him, the FCTA will embark on projects that will have direct bearing on the people, as he added that things like water scarcity and shortage in the territory will soon be a thing of the past.
He also called on residents to cooperate with FCTA to achieve the set goals.
“The minister and members of his administration are working hard to ensure that good standard of living is provided to the residents of the FCT. The FCTA is becoming more responsive to the current situation in the country today and as such this administration is fighting hard to brace up to the challenges,” he said.
“The administration of Bala Mohammed is embarking on responsive programmes, especially to cushion the effects of these challenges especially the oil subsidy removal."
The Abuja light rail network is expected to link Abuja with satellite towns such as Nyanya, Kubwa, Mararaba and Lugbe.

If the Leaders no go school me i go oooh...Electric train for 9ija with which light? country wey no fit generate 10 hours constant electricity for just homes and business firm. person one chop money again ko? think people!!!!
This is not posible,since people said no physical evidence .Renovation of exisiting line of about 20km take 1 year or more.So building new one of about 20 km takes more than 2 years.All junctions ,bridges.overhead passage.drainage systems,laying of underground cables,pipes.I am not saying is not posible but i think in Nigeria is a mirage with our epileptic power supply.This project need constant power supply.

Nigerians are tired of too many promises and if it is true that FCT will soon have light rail according to what Ahmed Wadada is saying here so be it but as for me as a Nigerian hahahaha i do not believe yet until i see it and touch it that it is tangible then i will say praise the Lord as well as sending kudos to Ahmed Wadada.
